Goodbye Toronto!

Leaving Canada...

So that's it, a wonderful year has passed for me in Toronto. There have been good and bad times but as the following nice citation says:

(You have to magnify the picture!)

In this one year I got to know many new and nice people, I got to call some of them friends and spent many great hours with them. Together with them I discovered and experienced the nice sides of Toronto:

At the beginning, Toronto seemed to be an urban jungle of concrete and glass, with an ugly tower looming at the horizon, unlike all the mountains that I call my home.

And unfortunately somebody was missing in this place ...

But somehow friends, life and joy filled the city and, in the end, I called it my even home when I returned from various road trips.

Yes, you indeed see me, on my campus, in my university shirt and in my city!

When I look at my travel map,

it seems to me that I have seen a big share of my host country. Memories of my trips all over this beautiful country and the nice people living there will always travel with me in the future. I am sure I will come back, there are still too many white spots in my map of Northern Canada

:)

Besides these fun experiences, traveling, rock climbing and partying, I also wrote my diploma thesis. And thanks to Bruce

and my host university,

I feel I made a big step forward in my career, where ever it will lead to.

So I am actually really sad to leave this place filled with people and memories. After three days of goodbye parties there sooner or later has to be a last night... a last night where all friends gather...

Thanks for the good time, guys!

You know whenever you are in Europe, visit me and I will show you my home and travel with you. To let you know, this is what expects you in summer

and in Winter:

And of course I will be there, probably looking slightly different than now,

but ready to have fun with you!

That's the end of my Canadian blog "Bergbua in Toronto". It's been a wonderful year, I am sad to leave but ready to move on! I would like to conclude my little Canadian story with a picture that reflects the fun and joy that I experienced in the beautiful nature of this wide country.

Goodbye, au revoir & Servus, Canada!
